Lincolnshire-based payroll provider, Dataplan, have attracted the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professional’s (CIPP) Education Director to join their Board.
This high-profile appointment may be a surprise to many in the industry but is a forward thinking move for the rapidly growing outsourcing group. A growth that has been super-charged since the management buy-out in May 2018 which saw them move away from the regional accountancy practice who owned them.
Elaine is joining Dataplan as Director of People and Quality, a role to which she brings significant experience gained over a long career in payroll. The last 15 years was with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals and culminated in the position of Education Director.
Richard Rowell, Dataplan CEO, said;
“Bringing Elaine on to the team of Directors here at Dataplan is a huge coup and ensures we continue to be at the forefront of developing existing and future team members, allowing Dataplan to continue to expand its position as a ‘go to’ provider in the world of payroll.
Elaine has such a huge and wide ranging experience across commercial, educational and technical aspects of payroll and is simply the most qualified person in the industry to lead us in developing the best people to service our clients’ needs.”
Elaine Gibson commented;
“I’m looking forward to the new challenge that Dataplan brings. I have worked closely with Dataplan for many years, tutoring a number of their employees through qualifications along the way.
Dataplan has grown over the last 10 years from a small payroll firm attached to an accountancy practice to a national business with over 100 staff.
Their innovative and entrepreneurial approach to the payroll outsourcing sector provides some very exciting opportunities in a technology-driven and ever more legislatively complex world.
The real attraction though is their focus on people. Dataplan know that while technology is vital, people want to deal with friendly experts who know their subject inside out. Taking the lead and enhancing the existing Workforce Development strategy ensures Dataplan continues to develop the very best people across the business.”
Elaine’s appointment, which starts on 1st April 2019, is the final one in a significant 12 months for Dataplan that has seen not only a management buyout by the current team of Directors but key strategic appointments including Paul Chappell as Head of Legislation and Compliance and Alison Clynes as Head of Marketing and Communications.
