Dataplan’s ability to adapt robustly to legislative change is one of our many strengths. We are proud of the fact that we ensure our clients’ compliance with the legislative landscape as this evolves and that we do so as an integral feature of our service, with no additional charges.

The vote last year for Britain to leave the European Union was one of the most significant events in recent years. Its repercussions, in terms of the legislation by which pretty much every aspect of our economy operates, look set to be stark and will, of course, have implications for payroll.

One such implication pertains to data protection. In August 2017, the government published its intentions in this area for when Britain leaves the EU. These amount to a plan for close cooperation between the UK and the EU after our departure from the Union, in terms of how data is secured and exchanged. Although this signifies a level of continuity with the existing arrangements – the paper examines the new regulatory framework of interaction, between the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office and EU equivalents, envisaged by the Government.

Payroll providers will need to make preparations for this new framework, to make sure that the highly sensitive data we hold is stored according to the most up-to-date legal standards. At Dataplan, we always have an eye to the future and will ensure, as with other legislative reform, we have it covered.
